The Calgary Organ Festival and Symposium began last week, but there’s plenty of fest yet. With performances every day, you have a number of opportunities to enjoy the king of instruments. Of particular note, I think, will be the live carillon performance at noon on Thursday (just be downtown, within a few blocks of the Calgary Tower…you’ll hear it). That evening, you can also enjoy a performance of the 1812 Overture with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Carthy Organ.
This weeks’ offerings range mostly from free to $25, and are going on at different venues, from MRU to U of C to right in the core. Check out the full festival schedule and find something to your liking.
