Learnin bout bourbon

More and more, I’m becoming a big fan of both whiskey and whisky. Like wine, there’s so much to know (if you so choose…if you don’t, you can just drink the stuff and be done with it). I’m digging the increasing opportunities in Calgary to learn about different kinds of opened the elija craig 18 year old bourbonwhiskies and whiskies (they both have the same plural, which I think is a bit confusing, but then I’ve never been the sharpest).

For the last several Thursdays you have had the opportunity to visit one of my home bars, The Rhino Smokehouse (though most of us still call it the Amsterdam Rhino), on Thursday nights to learn more about bourbon whiskey. Their Bourbon Thursdays wraps up this coming Thursday, September 27.

Not only will there be some free whiskey tastings, there will be BBQ scrumptiousness from Chef Heather, and some great tunes from local blues outfit, Bluessmyth.

I should probably have let y’all know about this great series of events sooner, but better now than telling you on Friday what a great time Thursday was, right?
